JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Assistant Baseball Coach
Reports to: Head Baseball Coach, City Administrator
Age Requirement: Must be at least 15 years old
FLSA: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
The Assistant Baseball Coach, along with the Head Baseball Coach, will provide leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies and techniques for the assigned activity, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment, physical fitness and safety to prepare participants mentally and physically to compete at the highest level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Assists the Head Baseball Coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport.
- Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the Head Baseball Coach.
- Assesses player’s skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head Baseball coach informed of the athletic performance of students.
- Monitors and supervises athlete’s behavior at games and on transportation to games.

Education and/or Experience
Possess some knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with parents and players.
Communication Skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally, and in writing with staff, other public officials, volunteer departments and the general public.
Physical Demands
Employees are regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, balance and stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The majority of the time performing the duties of this job are spent outdoors, including in hot and cool weather. The employee will also occasionally be exposed to smells. The noise level in this environment is usually low.
